Centre for Population and Development (CPAD) was established under JAMC building for enhancing research, training and academic programme in the field of Population and Development Studies. Master’s degree in Population and Rural Development is being conducted in CPAD.
CPAD offers 4 Semester Master of Science Course in Population and Rural Development. The essence of the course is targeted to produce human resource appropriate to work in policy making, programme implementation and monitoring and evaluation from grassroots to central level Besides a number of common courses, the Population and Rural Development is focused on the rural economy and rural resource management as well as have the thrust on poverty issues, rural-urban and overall development.     

The Master of Science in Population and Rural Development(MSc:PRD) course consists of a total of 66 credit hours. A student is required to complete all these credit courses to be awarded the degree. Beside, students are required to take some non-credit courses as well. The course is designed to be completed in four semester of 6 months each.

A student having a Bachelor's degree in any discipline is eligible to seek admission. Student should appear in an entrance examination conducted by the center. Those who meet the criteria set by the center are eligible for admission. Entrance result will be published in merit basis and outmost 30 meritorous students gets admission in a batch.

Students can seek scholarship themselves from any organization and funding agency and such students should provide evidence of the details of scholarship at the time of admission. University has also provisioned of limited scholarships for deserving students. Waving of 75% of the tuition fee for year topper is one of the provisions.
